Hunger-Free Latin America and the Caribbean Initiative

FAO Support

In 2009 FAO set up the Hunger Free Latin America and the Caribbean Initiative (HFLACI) as strategic framework for the projects funded through the Spain-FAO Program for Latin America and the Caribbean. This option was also adopted by the Brazil-FAO Program since its start in 2010.

This strategic framework allows articulating and coordinating the Hunger Free Latin America and the Caribbean Initiative Support Project, of which the Technical Secretariat of the Initiative is in charge, with other activities FAO develops within the framework of priorities determined by the countries of the region and other projects carried out by FAO, funded by Brazil, Spain, and other donors in the region.
